All packed up and ready to go…

Severe tapering?

I didn’t put my usual weekly post up last week because I did nearly no training.  I had planned on doing 150km over three rides but it wasn’t meant to be as I had family commitments.

I did manage 50km on Sunday. It was another busy weekend so I got up early and was on the bike by 5am. I made it home by 7 am and was showered just as everyone else was wakening.

A long week

This week was all about packing and planning what clothes to wear on the bike over the 4 days. I must admit, I was a little on edge this week. This will be my biggest event to date and I don’t really know what to expect.

I can only hope that I got enough training done. I do wish I had time to do more but with a young family I took all I could when I could. The fact that I have only done 50km over the last two weeks is also annoying me. Lets just hope the rest has done me good.

So, I have all packed and ready to go. I’ll leave for Kerry at 10am tomorrow, Friday. I’ll keep you posted via Facebook as much as possible over the coming days. It looks like the weather gods are with me. Sunny days and little or no wind for the next week.

Here goes nothing…..
