This past month seemed to have just flown by. I can’t believe we’re at the end of summer and autumn is just a few weeks away.
It hasn’t been a great summer in Ireland this year. No real extended periods of sunshine. Most of my audax this year have been hampered with rain and wind. But I suppose it builds character, or so they say.
On a positive note autumn can bring some of my favourite scenes. Golden sunsets and the colourful leaves on trees make for some amazing photos. Keep an eye out on I’m Instagram account for some pictures I take along the way.
I did the Iron Mountain 300 permanent for my August audax. I didn’t have to do a 300 but I did that route before and I just love it.
The weather wasn’t great on the day but I got away lucky as it seemed to be raining all around me by I got away without getting wet.
So that’s 8 in a row so my RRTY challenge is going well.
Big challenge next month with the Innisfree 400. It’s going to be quite hilly so it’s going to be tough.
My weight loss hasn’t been great this month. Indeed I haven’t lost anything. I’ve been eating bad again but at least my training is still going well and I felt good while doing the Iron Mountain 300.
However, the innisfree 400 will have lots of climbing so I’d like loose another 3 – 4 kg before that. Every bit will help.
That was really it for this month. Nothing really interesting to mention. I’m just getting ready for the next months 400 after which I will have completed a super randonneur series.
The plan for the next month is to spend the first 2 weeks doing lots of miles with a weeks rest before I take on the 400. I have no doubt that I will complete it but I want to enjoy it as much as possible and the only way of doing this is to be fully prepared.
