Adventure bikes, touring bikes, gravel bikes, whatever you want to call them, they all offer us the same thing. Freedom.

Having the right gear for any adventure is important if you really want to enjoy the experience.  The last thing you want to be doing is worrying about your kit.

For most people, buying a bike from a well known brand is more than a viable solution. Bike brands have really upped their game so if you’re relatively new to adventure cycling then I advise sticking to a stock bicycle.

However, if you’re like me and you know exactly what works best for you and have specific requirements that a brand doesn’t offer then building your own bike is the only way to go.

Building your own bike can be a daunting task if you don’t know where to start. That’s why I created this section of the website. To take the mystery away and show you exactly what you should be looking out for when building your own bike. I also recommend places where you can get the best deals. You will also be shown how to put your bike together and what tools you’ll need.

This part of the website can also be used if you want to just upgrade a certain part of your existing bike. It can also help you make the best decisions when buying a stock bike.

I will be using my dream bike build as an example as I go through each stage of the build and I will also be explaining why I made the decisions that I make.

Enjoy!
